Pakbet

I wanted some veggies and so I ordered “Pakbet” for lunch.  Pakbet is a Filipino dish made up up of squah, green beans and other veggies.  There was also some shrimps just to add to the taste.  Then I also had half cup rice and 1 leg of chicken barbecue.  It’s enough for my healthy lunch.  It’s a healthier choice rather than some chips and iced tea.  The calories there are lower but not nutritious.

I realized last night that I should not waste my calories.  That I should choose food that are nutritious and satisfying since my calories are restricted.

Anyway, tomorrow I won’t have to count calories and I plan on eating cupcakes from Mom and Tina’s.

Menstruation and Period

Ever since I started to go on a strict diet, I haven’t had my period.  I’ve done a pseudo-research and found out that stress can very much affect the menstrual cycle.

Losing weight is nice but compensating other part of my body is not okay.  Therefore last Tuesday and Wednesday, I allowed myself to eat whatever I want.  And now, I could feel my uterus working=)…like I am about to have my period any moment now.  So I now realized that i have to allow myself some day-off when it comes to strict calorie counting to not feel deprived and to get the nutrition that multivitamins cannot give.

Water works wonders

Ever since I started to cut back on my calories, I have an irregular bowel movement.  I used to have it twice a day.  But now, I have movement every 2 days.

Last night was my 3rd night of no movement.  And so I drank all the water I could drink.  I think I have 6 glasses of water.  It was also hot last night that was why some fluid came out as sweat.

This morning, I finally have it.

Water is really important to make us healthy.  It’s been proven.  I believe.=)

The blouse

Since I don’t have a clean scrubsuit, I decided to just wear a simple blouse and skinny jeans.  And people from work really noticed that I’ve lost some weight.

I really don’t think I’ve lost a lot since last week, I think it’s just my blouse–the style.  I looked at myself in the mirror and I saw that it was really because of my blouse.

People are not used to seeing me this “small”.

I hope they get used to it.  Because I want to be slim permanently.

Sweet Potato and Beef

I have beef stew with sweet potato for lunch.  It’s quite satisfying even without rice.  I was off calorie counting fror 2 days in a row and I have to discipline myself again, otherwise.

I was not supposed to be off CC last night but E asked me to go with him to Makati to meet someone.  Since we were already in Makati, I decided to bring him to one of my favorite resto in Makati–it’s a bakery and resto…Mom and Tina’s.  The pasta there is great and the desserts are addicting.  Most importantly, the price is affordable.

Today, I want to save up a little and so I decided to just let my officemates get me food from the dining hall.  And the food was beef and sweet potato.  I was satisfied with the food I should say.  At least there’s variety with what I eat.

I’m also supposed to be going to this meet-up but it did not push through.  I should have just jog.  Maybe, tomorrow.  Yeah, definitely tomorrow.

Meat-less

I have made progress last week–I think I’ve told you that before.  I was able to survive two days with no meat.  I feel fine.  So tomorrow, I will do that again.  I’m looking forward to choosing the veggies to eat.

Here’s to a healthier, more beautiful me=)

Off CC

Today has been stressful and I don’t know how to reward myself but with lots of energy from food.  And so I put aside calorie counting for today.  I only wish I have chosen well on the food that I’ve eaten.

I’ve lost 21 pounds so far so I guess I deserve to load up on energy=)

Chocolate Soup

My religion teacher in highschool was telling us about their popular store in the US and he said that people would call dinuguan (blood of pork ) as chocolate soup.

Today I had this dish along with chopsuey and rice.   I wasn’t supposed to eat it but the lady forgot to give me my chicken adobo order.  She only gave me the chopsuey and I was not planning on becoming a vegetarian this day.  Anyway, I was satisfied with what I ate.  I bought this at the stalls inside UP campus.  They have wide array of dishes at affordable price.  The rice was neatly cooked and the veggies were deliciously prepared.

Who says we can’t be healthy just because we can’t afford to buy at Healthy Options?=)

New Way to Drink Green or Black Tea

I tried drinking hot tea–green and black but I just could not swallow them.  I love Nestea iced tea though but I know that the healthier choice are the green, black, and white tea.  So how can I swallow a healthy tea while enjoying it also?  This is how I do it:

  1. Infuse a bag of black or green or white tea in a small cup with hot water.  Wait for 3 to 5 minutes until the tea has been thoroughly infused.  If you ask me my preference–I prefer black tea.
  2. While waiting for the tea infusion, I prepare the Litro pack Nestea iced tea and also the cubes of ice.
  3. I mixed the infused tea to the Nestea litro pack.  Stir the solution.
  4. Put the ice cubes in a tall glass.  Pour the mixed healthy tasty iced tea.  And enjoy.

The taste is even richer.  It’s quite addicting.  So for those who want to drink real tea but can’t when it’s pure, then try this.=)

Shoestring

I was at the grocery to buy myself dinner–Oishi Pods but another snack has been trying to catch my attention this past few days but I always choose to ignore it.  But this afternoon, I chose to give it a try.

The Oishi Shoestring Potatoes is similar to Piknik but is more affordable plus it comes in a small pack which is just 90 Calories.  I say this is perfect to satisfy cravings for a potato snack especially french fries.

I know this is junk food therefore not healthy.  But hey a junk food lover like me can’t change overnight.  It’s a process.  But this is not for everyday consumption.  Try this at your own risk.

This is salty though so not healthy.  Moreover, this can make you crave for more food.  But still I’m glad I discovered this snack.=)
